Are the agents real AI or just scripts?
Both, deliberately. Deterministic scripts handle things that must be exact, such as crawling and fetching Search Console data. Language models handle what needs judgement, such as explaining a ranking change or drafting a page title. Each agent combines the two.
Do the agents talk to each other?
They share one model of your website and pass cases between them. For example, the rank agent can ask the technical agent to check a page whose positions fell.
